For many people, owning a superyacht and travelling the world is a distant dream. For one of our clients, we were delighted to make that dream a reality.

During 2025, Fiduchi’s Marine Team was engaged to establish an ownership structure for a client acquiring a 37-metre superyacht.

After meeting with the client and working closely with their intermediary, our team took the time to fully understand how they intended to use the yacht. This step is essential; the way a yacht will be used directly influences the most appropriate ownership structure.

In this case, the client planned for the yacht to be initially based in the Mediterranean before embarking on voyages around the world. Understanding these intended cruising plans from the outset was crucial in shaping the correct structure, flag choice, and operational approach.

A key consideration from the very beginning was the choice of flag state, which can affect compliance, taxation, and even the onboard experience. This topic was explored in more detail in our recent article, Choosing the Right Flag State: The Most Important Decision in Superyacht Ownership, published in September.

Working closely with the client’s intermediary, our marine specialists guided the client through the decision-making process, ensuring that all aspects, from registration to VAT implications, were carefully addressed.

Working alongside trusted legal and tax advisors, Fiduchi ensured that the correct ownership structure was established. Getting this right from the outset is critical; it determines how the yacht can operate, where it can sail, and what tax and regulatory obligations apply.

By confirming every detail at the start of the project, our client was able to take ownership of their yacht with complete peace of mind, ready to enjoy their time at sea from day one.

At Fiduchi, we specialise in guiding clients through every stage of yacht ownership, from acquisition and registration to ongoing administration and compliance.

Kelly Bentley, Manager in Fiduchi’s Marine Team, said: “We were thrilled to work on this project and to receive such positive feedback from the client and their intermediary. It really reinforces how important great service and collaboration are, and how our value of ‘Excellence through Ownership’ makes a difference in everything we do.”

We’re proud to help clients bring their yachting ambitions to life, and we look forward to supporting many more.
