Fiduchi boasts an environment that encourages the personal progression of their employees. There is a high emphasis on further development and continuing professional development. This was of importance to me as I actively enjoy building on my knowledge and experience. The teams within the company are small and dedicated which ensures that we offer a personal service and really understand our client’s needs. Working in the Corporate Team allows for a varied day that involves working on a broad range of client engagements with different activities before I begin to specialise within the area I prefer.
Since joining Fiduchi in September 2017, I have undertaken Certificate in Offshore Administration (COA) with the full support of Fiduchi and my colleagues. The COA covered:-
• Trust & Company administration - merit
• Regulations and Compliance - merit
• Investment and Funds - distinction
• Offshore Finance Industry - distinction
I have also completed training on bookkeeping, attended various corporate governance seminars, and attended real estate training and regular intense anti-money laundering and regulatory update seminars. Having recently enrolled with the University of Portsmouth I have just begun the LLM Corporate Governance and Law / GRAD ICSA and I hope to graduate in July 2019. Continuing professional development is a high priority of mine as an increase in knowledge increases your capability and understanding.
After completing the LLM in Corporate Governance and Law/GRAD ICSA I would like to begin a CMI Management course to build upon my leadership and managerial skills. I would like to be working towards either Senior Administrator or Assistant Manager level before beginning this course so that I can put my studies into practice.
You are not expected to know everything, just an enthusiastic attitude towards everything you do.
I developed a study plan that I have used since University that definitely works for me, the “three P’s”;
1. Prioritise - Your studies are your responsibility, if you want to succeed.
2. Prepare - Begin your revision or articles as early as you can. Even if you only prepare your study method(s) it will be beneficial knowing that they are ready for you when you begin to revise.
3. Practice - Read, re-read and read more. Re-read assignments to help them jog your memory. Read your exam notes and test yourself. You will find the areas you are struggling with and therefore have more time to focus on them.
Locally, many wonderful charities within the Island provide incredible services. I appreciate the work that aims to promote equal opportunities that allow everyone to access the beauty of the island. Therefore, I would donate to charities that have mission statements that reflect this.Internationally, I would love to assist in the education of children in areas of poverty. I am a firm believer in every child should be able to access proper education and I believe that the children would have a lot to teach me in return.
It is essential to understand that each client is unique with differing rationales and objectives for their structures. This is why it is vital to take the time to profile and understand our client's requirements to provide a bespoke service which is suited to their needs.
Last year I worked for a local estate agent that gave me a good understanding of the real estate buying, letting and investment service industry. I am incredibly grateful for the said opportunity as it provided a platform and base for the development of my knowledge within Fiduchi.
